Volunteer
As an organization, Basically Babies has over 16 years of experience in creating and assembling practical and complete wardrobes which will outfit infants for their first year. Our Chairwoman of the Board and current President, Shannon Stewart, was the founder of Basically Babies. She has her Bachelor of Commerce degree and an extensive background in business in the areas of business strategy and management consulting, the field in which she works in a professional capacity. She oversees the entire management, corporate direction and strategy of Basically Babies while also ensuring she is engaged in the day-to-day operations completing hands-on tasks as well as guidance of volunteers and staff. Shannon provides her time and expertise exclusively on a volunteer basis.
The Board of Directors consists of Shannon Stewart, Donna Laird, and Tracy Sedens. Both Donna and Tracy spend an enormous number of hours volunteering in the warehouse and in layette production in addition to providing guidance and direction to volunteers and participating in the significant Strategic Planning activities that are undertaken each year and reviewed quarterly. All of these activities are completed on a volunteer basis.
Theresa Jantzen Reed is the Executive Director of Basically Babies. She has been leading the operational, volunteer, and financial aspects of the charity since January 2010. Previously, Theresa managed client services for the Vancouver Canucks and also has extensive working experience in the university non profit sector.
